Useful innovation at the Veterans Administration

By Craig Newmark - 09/10/09 09:40 AM ET

Anything that might help vets is great, and the folks at the VA are changing their culture in a big way.

Here's a big deal, breaking news ...

The Vet Benefits Administrators are the people who help vets get the benefits they need. They know how to make things work better, and now they have a way to get heard and to put those ideas into practice.

The deal is that there's now a VBA innovation site, internal only, just got started, and off to a great start. The VBAs know what they need, already have a lot of good ideas and a lot of good discussion around those ideas.

Specifically, around 5,000 VBA people connected on the first day and already have 686 suggested innovations.

I'm not privy to the specifics, but y'know, anything that helps vets get benefits more effectively, that's pretty cool.
