News bites: Obama administration mulls environmental toll of coal exports

The White House Council on Environmental Quality has held a series of meetings with federal regulators as the administration considers the scope of its environmental analysis of terminals to export coal to Asia, Bloomberg reports.

Following the Fukushima disaster, the Nuclear Regulation Commission is considering new rules for the United States' 31 boiling water reactors, according to The New York Times.

New Jersey has become the biggest state to allow regulated online gambling, The Wall Street Journal reports.

Barclays's dust-up with energy regulators will take place in public view following the rejection of claims that allegations of market manipulation were a publicity stunt, Reuters reports.
