NADCO fills new regulatory chief position

By Ben Goad - 03/18/13 12:45 PM ET

Veteran finance executive Rhonda Pointon has been named to the National Association of Development Companies’ (NADCO) newly created position overseeing regulatory affairs for the trade group.

Pointon will serve as Vice President of Regulatory Affairs, Training & Support and will represent NADCO before the Small Business Association (SBA) and other federal agencies, the group announced Monday.

She brings to the job 23 years of experience in the banking and finance industries, and expertise in SBA and commercial lending, NADCO said.

“Rhonda’s appointment to this newly-created role is a major step forward in our effort to provide NADCO members with the highest-quality regulatory counsel, training and support,” NADCO President & CEO Beth Solomon in a written statement.

NADCO represents nearly 270 Certified Development Companies (CDCs) serving all 50 states. Overseen by SBA, the non-profit CDCs provide non-profit financing for small businesses.

NADCO’s members provided $6 billion to nearly 10,000 U.S. small businesses in 2012, according to the group.
