Obama signs drug compounding bill

President Obama signed legislation on Wednesday that will give the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) new powers to oversee some pharmacies that mix drugs.

The Drug Quality and Security Act would make it easier to trace drugs throughout the country.

Bill would check FDA menu labeling

New legislation in the Senate would exempt pizza delivery joints and grocery stores from upcoming federal rules requiring restaurants to post the number of calories in their food.

The Common Sense Nutrition Disclosure Act, from Sens. Roy Blunt (R-Mo.) and Angus King (I-Maine), would limit the ability of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to impose regulations that store owners say would be nearly impossible to fulfill.
