News bites: Congress, Justice square off over drone strike rules

A bipartisan group of lawmakers is demanding more information following the inadvertent leak of a Justice Department memo outlining the legal case for drone strikes against U.S. citizens involved with al Qaeda, The Hill’s DEFCON blog reports.

The Obama administration is moving to scrap some obsolete Medicare regulations, potentially saving $3.4 billion over five years, according to Reuters.

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission will hold a hearing on whether a proposed addition to a plant in Michigan would harm the habitat of the endangered eastern fox snake, The Associated Press reports.
