House gears up for driverless car hearing

The House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee will meet Tuesday to consider the future of self-driving cars.

The hearing is a rescheduled meeting from last month, when the review was canceled in the midst of the federal government shutdown.


FCC loosens TV, radio ownership rules

The Federal Communications Commission voted unanimously Thursday to loosen rules restricting foreign ownership of broadcast TV and radio stations.

The decision brings the agency's rules for broadcast foreign ownership more in line with its rules for cable companies, wireless carriers and other industries.  


Two more airlines cleared for gadgets

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has cleared two more airlines for allowing passengers to keep their electronic devices on during the entire lengths of flights.

U.S. Airways and United Airlines have been granted permission to expand in-flight electronic use, making them the fourth and fifth major airlines to receive the OK since the FAA relaxed its rules last week.
