News bites: Test-driving self-driving

Your morning transportation speed-read:

California Gov. Jerry Brown (D) has signed a bill to allow self-driving cars in his state.

Italian automaker Fiat, which owns Chrysler in a deal facilitated by the Obama administration, has confirmed plans to build cars for the U.S. in Italy.

The National Transportation Safety Board has released its findings about a pair of near mid-air collisions at Chicago's O'Hare International Airport.

Las Vegas-based Allegiant Airlines is considering allowing passengers to roll the dice on its fares.
