Airline buys Christmas gifts for passengers

A Canadian airline brought Christmas gifts for 250 of its passengers and delivered them when they arrived at their destination, AdWeek Magazine reports.

The airline, WestJet, asked passengers waiting to board flights from Toronto and Hamilton, Ontario, to tell a virtual Santa what they wanted for Christmas, according to the report.

The airline then purchased the gifts and delivered them to the passengers on luggage conveyor belts when their flights landed.

The gifts were address to the passengers as being “from Santa,” the report said, and the exchanges became the fodder of a series of internet videos produced by the airline that have gone viral.
