Romney offers donors a ride on 'Hair Force One' campaign plane
Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney is offering his supporters the opportunity to fly on his campaign plane.
Romney's campaign emailed supporters Thursday with the subject "Fly with me." The offer allows donors who give at least $15 to the former Massachusetts governor's campaign the opportunity to fly on Romney's plane, which he says in the email has been dubbed "Hair Force One" by his wife, Ann.
"Personally, I don't quite know what to call it, but I do know it's crucial in getting this campaign's message to every corner of the country," Romney says in the email. "And with just 54 days left until the election, we will be putting it to good use."
"I don't know exactly what our itinerary will be, but if you're one of the winners — I can tell you it will be exciting. And, who knows, maybe you and I will come up with a better name for the campaign plane."
Romney unveiled a new plane for his campaign, a McDonnell-Douglass 83 that reads "Believe in America," after he accepted the Republican nomination at the party's convention in Tampa, Fla., last month.
