Air Force One aborts landing attempt in Ohio

By Keith Laing - 09/26/12 03:46 PM ET

President Obama's airplane needed two attempts to land on Wednesday for his campaign trip to Ohio.

Reporters traveling with Obama to Bowling Green, Ohio, said Air Force One aborted an attempted landing in Toledo because of bad weather. The plane was able to land on a second attempt and Obama gave remarks as scheduled at Bowling Green University.

White House press secretary Jay Carney told passengers on board the presidential aircraft that the first approach was hampered by rain.
