FAA fines US Airways for failing to inspect 757

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is fining U.S. Airways $354,500 for allegedly flying a Boeing 757 that was not cleared for commercial flights.
The agency alleges the airline flew the plane 916 times between August and December of 2010, in violation of FAA rules that required the aircraft to be inspected after one of its parts was replaced.
The part was an engine fuel pump, which the FAA said was replaced because it was leaking.
The FAA said U.S. Airways will have 30 days to respond to its announcement of the fine.
