News bites: Transportation funding envy

Your morning transportation speed-read: 

Transportation supporters in Maryland are hoping lawmakers there will be spurred to approve new funding for road and transit projects by a recent deal in nearby Virginia.

Lawmakers from the Washington, D.C., suburbs in northern Virginia are unhappy about a proposed fee increase in the deal on electric and hybrid automobiles, however.

A new service is allowing passengers who park their cars at San Francisco International Airport to rent their cars while they are out of town.

An airline fare watchdog is predicting that leisure travelers will pay higher prices for tickets after the recent merger between U.S. Airways and American Airlines.
