Train station to be named after Biden

By Keith Laing - 03/15/11 05:44 PM ET

The vice president is well known for commuting to Washington on Amtrak during his Senate career.

The Amtrak station in Wilmington, Del., will be named after long-time passenger rail advocate Vice President Joe Biden, according to a report.

Biden commuted to Washington via Amtrak throughout his Senate career.

The station was renovated partially using money from the federal economic stimulus package Biden trumpeted and has been in charge of overseeing for the administration. Of the project's $37.7 million price tag, $20 million came from the stimulus bill.

The station will be christened Joseph R. Biden, Jr. Railroad Station on Saturday, reported NBC10 in Philadelphia.
