Conservative political commentator Laura Ingraham said Wednesday that a valuable piece of jewelry was stolen from her luggage at Newark's Liberty International Airport in New Jersey last week.
Ingraham, who hosts a syndicated radio show, said that a cross she received at her baptism was taken from her bag Friday night, The Daily Caller reported Tuesday. Ingraham said the item was taken either by TSA agents or Continental Airlines employees.
“It looks like it’s been rifled through,” the website reported Ingraham said of her bag on her show this week. “All the junk is all balled up in wrinkled knots; the stuff has clearly been rifled through. And, I said, ‘Gosh, TSA, you think they’d be a little more careful with the clothes.' ”
“I kind of let it go and I’m putting my stuff away, then, all of a sudden, I look down, and the little purple jewelry bag that, again, I don’t have jewelry so my friend lent me [one], is open,” she continued. “The little container of the jewelry, of course that contained my cross, was stolen.”
Several TSA employees have been arrested for allegedly stealing from passengers at airports across the country.
