Report: TSA employees rescued woman who had been kidnapped
A woman who was allegedly kidnapped was rescued by Transportation Security Administration employees, according to a media report on Tuesday.
TSA officials at Miami International Airport detained four passengers after they noticed the victim wearing a scarf to conceal bruises, NBC News reported.
The woman was allegedly beaten in a hotel room and brought to the airport for a forced flight from Miami to New York, officials said.
"When she came closer I realized she was black and blue on both sides of her face, her forehead. I noticed her shoulder looked like she had a big rug burn,” one of the TSA officers told NBC. “Later on I found out from her that they had dragged her across the floor.”
The TSA's director at the Miami airport said in the report that his officers were acting "in the course of their duty.
"They did what they were trained to do,” TSA Miami International Director Mark Hatfield said according to the television station.
“They saw stress, they saw fear, and it turned out that this woman was in really dire danger,” Hatfield said.
