Grassley, Landrieu to appear on Dr. Phil

Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) noted on Twitter Monday that he'll be appearing with colleague Mary Landrieu (D-La.) in an upcoming episode of "Dr. Phil."

The two co-chair the Senate Caucus on Foster Youth, which was launched in December, and will spend the TV segment discussing adoption.

"Just got done filming a DrPhil show w Senator LandRieu," he said. "Will air soon. Stay tuned."

Eric Woolson, Grassley's campaign spokesman, explained in an article Sunday that the segment would also address a bill passed in 2008 that provides federal incentives for states to move foster children to adoptive homes.

The Des Moines Register noted the spot because it forced Grassley to miss a debate Sunday with his Democratic challenger in the midterm elections, Roxanne Conlin.
