O'Donnell shames would-be GOP colleagues on earmarks

Delaware Senate candidate Christine O'Donnell shamed some fellow Republicans on Friday for their willingness to accept earmarks.

O'Donnell, who won her Senate nomination in a conservative primary challenge to Rep. Mike Castle, trained her focus against fellow Republicans.

O'Donnell tweeted Friday:

Shame on GOP porkers! 49 states buying favors for 1. GOP must be better than Dem porkers like my opponent. http://bit.ly/cbQGy9 #desen #tcot

Her tweet links to a Wall Street Journal story detailing the divide within the GOP on earmarks, a practice a lawmaker can use to designate an appropriations item for a specific purpose. House Republicans voluntarily adopted a one-year ban on earmarks earlier this year, but some of O'Donnell's would-be colleagues in the Senate have been outspoken in their defense of the practice.
