Palin plays to 'hard working Iowa residents' in tax fight

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) played to potential Iowa voters on Twitter during a Thursday book signing there.

Palin, in a tweet, cast herself as on the side of "hard working Iowa residents" when it comes to the debate over the fate of tax cuts before Congress.

Palin tweeted:

today from here in Iowa @ book signing; No doubt hard working Iowa residents will agree that Obama Tax Hikes (29 days from now) will slam 'em

Palin's been traveling throughout the Midwest to promote her new book, America by Heart. Her stop in Iowa is particularly noteworthy as she prepares for a possible presidential run in 2012.

She's been to Iowa, the home of the first GOP presidential nominating contest, several times. But Palin has also so far diligently avoided presidential talk in her trips there.
