Rep. Clyburn drops 'whip' from Twitter handle

Former House Majority Whip James Clyburn (D-S.C.) dropped the "whip" from his Twitter handle on Wednesday.

As Democrats assumed the minority in the House, Clyburn changed his old Twitter handle ("WhipClyburn") to simply "Clyburn."

He tweeted on Wednesday:

Thank you SC-6 for sending me back to Congress represent you. My top 3 priorities for the 112th Congress: jobs, more jobs, & many more jobs.

Clyburn will serve as assistant Democratic leader in the next Congress. Rep. Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) will be minority whip.
