Ellison asks Twitter users to help him follow protests in Bahrain

Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Minn.) is asking Twitter users to help him keep up with developing protests in Bahrain.

"Keeping a close eye on Bahrain. Post news as you receive it," Ellison tweeted Tuesday.

In the last two days Bahrain has been the site of anti-government protests, which come on the heels of similar demonstrations in Egypt that forced the resignation of President Hosni Mubarak.

Other protests have erupted in Jordan, Algeria and Iran.

The State Department was quick to voice its support for pro-democracy demonstrations. On Monday, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said the protests in Iran were "a testament to the courage of the Iranian people."
