Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell (R) paid a visit to Capitol Hill on Wednesday, meeting with members of his state's congressional delegation.

Freshman Sen. Mark Warner (D), a former Virginia governor, posted an update about the meeting on Twitter:

Bipartisanship & bottled water: inside today's Va delegation mtg w/ @BobMcDonnell.

McDonnell is seen as a rising star within the GOP. He delivered the Republican Party's response to the State of the Union last year after winning his gubernatorial election in 2009, one year after President Obama took the Old Dominion's electoral votes.
