Liberal congressman applauds Obama's Libya plan

President Obama's ultimatum to Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi earned praise from a liberal member of Congress on Friday.

Rep. Earl Blumenauer (D-Ore.) took to Twitter to applaud the president's stance:

Action at last to protect Libyans; but unlike the Iraq War, done right this time.

Obama warned Gadhafi to cease violence against rebel forces or face a military response from the United States and its allies.

The president said, however, that the U.S. would not send ground troops into the North African country.

Blumenauer was a staunch critic of the Iraq war and has questioned Obama's decision to send additional troops to Afghanistan.
