Lugar, Pence tweet their joy over Butler Final Four win

Sen. Richard Lugar (R-Ind.) took to Twitter to express his delight that Indiana’s Butler University will play for a national college basketball championship.

“Congrats @butleru @BUCoachStevens @ButlerMBB and @ButlerBlue2! A great moment yet again for Indiana!,” Lugar tweeted Saturday night after the Bulldogs beat Virginia Commonwealth University in the semifinal.

The Bulldogs will be underdogs when they play the University of Connecticut in Monday night’s final.

Rep. Mike Pence (R-Ind.) was even more excited in his victory tweet. “How about them Dawgs! Butler University is headed back to the NCAA Championship Game! This time they are bringing the banner home to Hinkle!,” he tweeted.

But Sen. Twitter account, but his press office tweeted pictures of the Majority Leader with other politicians at the game.
