In case he was afraid of having too much free time during the August recess, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) now has enough book recommendations to keep him busy until the next debt-ceiling debate.
The senator shared his "recs for summer recess reading" Wednesday on Twitter and sought out recommendations from his followers.
McCain suggested The Autobiography of Mark Twain, The House of Rothschild by Niall Ferguson, The Hypnotist by Lars Kepler and The Snowman by Jo Nesbø. About the last, McCain tweeted, "Stieg Larsson fans will enjoy it!"
"Thanks for all the responses on summer reading - anyone have more recommendations for good reads in August?" he then asked.
It turns out the senator has already read several of the suggestions his followers offered.
"Unbroken is an incredible book," tweeted McCain about the Laura Hillenbrand tome.
Not only has McCain read one Twitter user's recommendation, The Lincoln Lawyer, by Michael Connelly, but he caught the movie version as well. "The Lincoln Lawyer was a good flick too," he tweeted.
Twitter users hoping for an RT from the senator might have switched from historical nonfiction to fast-paced mysteries set in Washington, D.C. "I enjoyed The Lost Symbol," tweeted McCain in response to a follower's Dan Brown suggestion.
