Lawmakers are sending their thoughts and prayers to the Midwest after an unusual wave of tornadoes Sunday.
Rep. Aaron Schock (R-Ill.) was in his district to assess the damage, and tweeted a photo from the town of Washington, which had been leveled.
Another Illinois congressman, Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R), tweeted how residents can track down victims of the tornado.

The line of strong storms also hit Indiana hard. Rep. Todd Rokita (R) tweeted on Monday a photo of himself touring his state’s damage with Gov. Mike Pence (R). Sen. Joe Donnelly (D) also joined the group.
Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) also weighed in on the destruction.
