Rep. Andy Harris (R-Md.) took a stab at HealthCare.gov Tuesday in a tweet that questioned why the White House is promoting an online poll asking people to choose this year’s National Thanksgiving Turkey.
Interesting choice by the Obama Admin to do this http://t.co/X3P2szQI17 when the Obamacare website is still broken....— Rep. Andy Harris, MD (@RepAndyHarrisMD) November 26, 2013
President Obama will pardon two turkeys named Caramel and Popcorn on Wednesday, but only one will receive the title of National Thanksgiving Turkey, the White House website says.
Popcorn, the White House tweeted, can sing “Halo” by Beyonce.
Caramel, on the other hand, is a soybean connoisseur.
Harris suggests the White House is seeking to distract attention from the healthcare law, just as Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) suggested in a tweet Saturday evening when the Iran deal was announced.
Amazing what WH will do to distract attention from O-care— JohnCornyn (@JohnCornyn) November 24, 2013
The Obama administration’s deadline to repair HealthCare.gov for most users is this Saturday.
On Monday, officials said the website won’t be perfect at the beginning of next month.
