McCain 'disappointed' with GOP candidates' support for waterboarding

Sen. John McCain on Monday criticized comments by the Republican presidential candidates in support of waterboarding.

"Very disappointed by statements at SC GOP debate supporting waterboarding. Waterboarding is torture," McCain (R-Ariz.) tweeted on Monday.

A number of Republican presidential candidates voiced support for waterboarding during Saturday night's Republican presidential debate in South Carolina.

On Monday, Michele Bachmann reiterated some of her criticisms of President Obama's decision to discontinue waterboarding.

"No one died from the use of waterboarding. Is it uncomfortable? Yes, it's uncomfortable. But our worry should not be the comfort level of terrorists," the Republican Minnesota congresswoman said Monday on Fox News.

McCain has spoken out against waterboarding before and was against it when he ran for president in 2008.
