Lawmakers wish pope 'Happy Birthday'

A few lawmakers wished Pope Francis a happy birthday on Twitter Tuesday. He turned 77.

Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) linked to video posted to YouTube of him singing his renowned birthday song.

“Thank god you were born, thank god you are Pope,” tweeted House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.).

Rep. Alan Lowenthal (D-Calif.) wished the pope well, and linked to a news story about how the pope spent his birthday Tuesday having breakfast with homeless people.

Sen. Pat Toomey (R-Pa.) wished the pope well, too.
