Gingrich reveals his New Year's resolution for 2014

Newt Gingrich says his New Year's resolution for 2014 is to visit more zoos.

He posted an old photo of himself visiting a zoo and petting an elephant on his Instagram account on Thursday.

Gingrich, who served as Speaker of the House and ran in the 2012 Republican presidential primaries, has been known for stopping by zoos.

He told The Washington Post in 2011 that he had visited nearly 100 zoos in the United States.

In a YouTube video that year, Gingrich revealed that when he was young, he wanted to be a zoo director.

“I just like to go and unwind, and see how the local zoo does things, the kind of animals they have,” he said.
