"I couldn't [be more] excited to be joining the MSNBC family,” Meghan McCain said in a press release Monday. “It's a unique opportunity to share my perspective as a Republican on a network I respect and have built a relationship with over the past two years."

Her father appeared to share in her excitement.

McCain said last week having his daughter and former President Clinton's daughter, Chelsea, on the same network was "a match made in heaven.”

NBC News hired Chelsea Clinton as a special correspondent for "NBC Nightly News” earlier this month. Jenna Bush Hager, daughter of former President George W. Bush, also works for NBC's "Today" show.
