The first lady, who was sitting next to the trio, also appeared in the photo.

Later that month, Oxford Dictionary deemed selfie the word of 2013.

The president hasn't mastered all new technology yet. Earlier this week, he had trouble shooting video with an iPad. At a Maryland middle school, he attempted to take a video of a classroom with his associates but failed to push the record button.
