Sen. McCain praises WSJ editorial blasting GOP on payroll tax

Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) said a scathing Wall Street Journal editorial arguing that House Republicans were losing the public relations battle and should move quickly to extend the payroll tax holiday was "right on the mark."

"WSJ is right on the mark here," McCain tweeted. He included a link to the editorial in his tweet. 

The Journal's editorial argues that House Republicans "thoroughly botched" the payroll tax cut debate and that the GOP's stance could have put President Obama in a "stronger reelection position" and opened the door to possible Democratic majorities in the House and Senate.

McCain's tweet comes a day after he said on CNN that House Republicans' refusal to approve the Senate-passed two-month tax extension is "harming the Republican Party."
