Schumer tweets 'Linsanity'
Sen. Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) joined the growing number of people praising New York Knicks basketball star Jeremy Lin with a play on his name.
"Jeremy Lin is living proof of why my basketball career @Harvard was LINished before it started. 7 in a row! #Linsanity," Schumer tweeted Thursday.
Lin, a Harvard University graduate, was an undrafted point guard trying to get as much time off the bench as possible until roughly two weeks ago when the Knicks' injuries opened up more playing time for him. Since then he's been praised as a breakout star, and such phrases as "Linsanity" and "Linderella" have been bandied about on and off Twitter.
President Obama said he was very impressed with Lin.
Schumer attended Harvard for his undergraduate and law degrees.
