Michelle Obama, Beyonce exchange compliments

Beyonce thinks the first lady is the “ultimate” role model, and Michelle Obama returned the compliment on Friday.

Obama thanked singer Beyonce for a handwritten letter the singer posted on her website this week that cited Obama as “the ULTIMATE example of a truly strong African American woman.”

“I am proud to have my daughter grow up in a world where she has people like you, to look up to,” Beyonce wrote in an open letter to Obama posted on her Tumblr blog.

Obama returned the compliment in a tweet.

Beyonce signed her gushing letter “Love, Beyonce” but Obama simply used her Twitter signature “-mo,” the campaign’s stated signal that the tweet came from Obama personally.
