Roseanne Barr makes VP offer on Twitter

Never mind the vetting and hand-wringing; Roseanne Barr already knows who she wants for vice president.

Barr, best known for her hit 1990s show "Roseanne," announced in February that she is officially running as a Green Party candidate for the presidency.

Her ideal running mate seems to be Lynn Henning, an environmental activist working with the Sierra Club and specifically focused on pollution at livestock factory farms.

Barr extended the semi-official offer via tweet last week.

Unfortunately, Barr’s first choice has already turned her down, tweeting in response that she would “consider EPA director” in a Barr administration.

Henning has already been close to one president, meeting President Obama in 2010 after winning a Goldman Environmental Prize for grassroots environmental activism.

Barr participated in a debate with Green Party candidate Jill Stein in San Francisco over the weekend, where she promised to offer “common sense direction to those in whom it is lacking, namely those in government.”

The third-party nomination will be decided at the Green Party National Convention, held in Baltimore in July. Vice presidential candidates are typically announced around the time of the official nomination.

Although Obama announced his vice presidential pick in 2008 to supporters through a text message, it would be unprecedented for the offer to appear on a political ticket to be made through Twitter.
