Unfortunately, Barr’s first choice has already turned her down, tweeting in response that she would “consider EPA director” in a Barr administration.
@TheRealRoseanne Thanks for the offer, but I must decline. So much to do here in Michigan (come on down and I'll give you a manure tour!)— Lynn Henning (@CAFOCrusader) May 11, 2012
@TheRealRoseanne By the way, if you get elected, I'd consider EPA Director :-)— Lynn Henning (@CAFOCrusader) May 11, 2012
Henning has already been close to one president, meeting President Obama in 2010 after winning a Goldman Environmental Prize for grassroots environmental activism.
The third-party nomination will be decided at the Green Party National Convention, held in Baltimore in July. Vice presidential candidates are typically announced around the time of the official nomination.
Although Obama announced his vice presidential pick in 2008 to supporters through a text message, it would be unprecedented for the offer to appear on a political ticket to be made through Twitter.
