Romney books first non-Fox Sunday show appearance

Mitt Romney will make his first Sunday show appearance on a network other than Fox News this weekend, agreeing to appear on CBS's "Face the Nation."

Bob Schieffer, host of the program, tweeted an announcement of the booking Wednesday night.

Romney has thus far only appeared on "Fox News Sunday," forgoing invitations to appear on NBC's "Meet the Press," ABC's "This Week" or CNN's "State of the Union" during the 2012 primary campaign. In fact, each of the leading Republican candidates opted to only appear on Fox News's program throughout the primary race, looking to appeal to the network's traditionally conservative audience.

Romney will make the appearance from the road in the middle of his five-day bus tour through six battleground states. The “Every Town Counts” tour starts in New Hampshire on Friday, and will also make stops in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Wisconsin, Iowa and Michigan.
