GOP: Happy birthday GW Bush, Nancy Reagan, Sylvester Stallone
July 6 is a double-whammy on the Republican celebration calendar.
Both former President George W. Bush and former first lady Nancy Reagan are marking their birthdays today.
Reagan, 91, got a special birthday tribute yesterday, in her first public appearance since a fall in May that broke several ribs. Joining Disney Corp. Chairman Robert Iger to open an exhibit from the Walt Disney Archives at the Reagan Presidential Library, the nonagenarian was treated to a rendition of "Happy Birthday" by Mickey and Minnie Mouse.
The response online seemed to fall mostly along party lines, with Republican congressmen, senators and other figures all wishing the pair well, while the Democratic side of the aisle was mostly quiet. Bush's fellow Texans, including Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison and Rep. Michael Burgess, were particularly happy to send the former president birthday wishes. Sen. John McCain (Ariz.) acknowledged Reagan, and Rep. John Shimkus (Ill.) remembered both birthdays in his tweet.

Outside the Beltway, Reagan and Bush were competing with noted figures from other fields for birthday attention. The Dalai Lama, 77, and rapper 50 Cent, 37, will also be blowing out candles today, and California's former Republican Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger noted in a tweet that his friend and fellow actor Sylvester Stallone is turning another year older (66) as well.
