Rep. Paul takes victory lap over successful 'Audit the Fed' vote

Paul has pushed for this type of legislation for years and won bipartisan support for the Federal Reserve Transparency Act in a 327-98 vote. The legislation allows for a full audit of the Fed by the Government Accountability Office.

Mitt Romney, the presumptive GOP nominee, also made a point of supporting Paul’s efforts on the bill.

The hashtag #AuditTheFed, pushed by Paul and many other members on Twitter on Wednesday, hit nearly 2,000 tweets at around 2 p.m. according to Topsy Analytics.
