Sen. Moran proud of Kansas City's high speed Google project

Sen. Jerry Moran (R-Kan.) shared his pride in Kansas City on Thursday following Google's announcement that its super high-speed Internet will be available there later this year.

"Kansas City is one step closer to becoming America's next great innovation hub with today's Google Fiber announcement," Moran wrote on his Facebook page. "This means 100x faster internet speeds than most of the U.S."

The Google Fiber Web service project was announced last year, and Kansas City, Kan., and Kansas City, Mo., are two of the first locations it will be available. The 1 Gbps broadband service will be available for $70 per month, much cheaper than in Chattanooga, Tenn., the first city where Google is providing the new service.
