Mitt Romney's campaign tried to use former Obama economic adviser Austan Goolsbee in its response to the July jobs reports released Friday, using a quote from his morning appearance on CNBC in a tweet and an email titled "What they're saying: Another bad month in the Obama economy."

Goolsbee was having none of it, calling the Romney team "morons" in his own tweet later in the day.

The Romney campaign wasn't done, though, with Policy Director Lanhee Chen firing back in another tweet later that night.

The unemployment rate went up a tenth of a point to 8.3 percent in July, according to the numbers released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The economy also added 163,000 jobs, a number well above expectations. Obama said there's "more work to do" to regain financial security. Romney called the report a "hammer blow to the struggling middle-class."
