Goolsbee was having none of it, calling the Romney team "morons" in his own tweet later in the day.

@austan_goolsbee on CNBC: "Our growth rate is measly, and with a measly growth rate, there's no secret there are not going to be many jobs"
The Romney campaign wasn't done, though, with Policy Director Lanhee Chen firing back in another tweet later that night.
Dear— Lanhee Chen (@lanheechen) August 3, 2012
@austan_goolsbee: 1.5% GDP growth in Q2 is "measly" and 42 straight months of over-8% unemployment doesn't sound so "good" to us.
The unemployment rate went up a tenth of a point to 8.3 percent in July, according to the numbers released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The economy also added 163,000 jobs, a number well above expectations. Obama said there's "more work to do" to regain financial security. Romney called the report a "hammer blow to the struggling middle-class."
