Michelle Obama: 'Yay' for sprinter Allyson Felix
First lady Michelle Obama tweeted "yay" to Olympic sprinter Allyson Felix on Thursday.
“Thanks for making us proud,” she tweeted.
“My pleasure!” Felix tweeted in response.
The sprinter won the women's 200-meter sprint Wednesday at the London Olympics. Felix is also a member of the President’s Council on Fitness, Sports and Nutrition.
Most of the congratulatory tweets for Olympians sent out by the White House this month have been tagged “-mo” for the first lady, who also led the presidential delegation to London for the opening ceremonies. But swimmer Michael Phelps and the U.S. women’s gymnastics team got special shout-outs straight from the president.
Yay
