Rep. Huelskamp notes DC an outlier in economic confidence survey
Rep. Tim Huelskamp (R-Kan.) on Friday tweeted that a new survey shows why it is important for members of Congress to spend regular time in their districts.
The Gallup Economic Confidence Index, released Friday, found Washington, D.C., the most confident area in the country when it comes to the economy.
"This is why I believe each Congressman should go home every weekend," Huelskamp tweeted.
Most members of Congress are home in their districts this month during August recess. Twitter is often the fastest way to find out when and where representatives are holding local events. For example, Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), who typically visits all 99 counties in his state during August recess, has been using the hashtag #99countymeetings to track his progress.
