News of presumptive GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney’s vice presidential pick spread quickly across the Twitterverse Saturday morning, with several prominent Republicans offering their praise.

Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, also rumored to be in the running for the post in months past, weighed in.

“Great choice by @MittRomney to pick @RepPaulRyan as his VP,” he wrote.

Reince Priebus, chairman of the Republican National Committee, also gave his seal of approval Saturday.

Onetime competitor with Romney for the GOP presidential nomination, Texas Gov. Rick Perry, also offered his support for the pick.

“Paul Ryan, conservative budget hawk . . . excellent choice who will underscore MR commitment to downsize Washington and restore job creation,” he wrote.
