Republicans send prayers on Twitter after shooting in DC

Many Republicans have worked with the FRC, an influential Christian group founded by Focus on the Family’s James Dobson. Among the group's many issues is opposition to abortion rights.

A security guard was reportedly shot in the arm during the incident. ABC 7, a local station, reported a suspect is in custody.

“The police are investigating this incident,” FRC President Tony Perkins said in a statement released shortly after the shooting. “Our first concern is with our colleague who was shot today. Our concern is for him and his family.”
