

Democrats target 'gun violence' in response to NYC shooting
New York Democrats and other lawmakers took to Twitter to respond to Friday's shooting near the Empire State Building, with several legislators calling for a renewed look at gun violence.
New York Democrats Sen. Charles Schumer and Reps. Charles Rangel, Gregory Meeks and Joseph Crowley, along with Rep. Marcia Fudge (D-Ohio) tweeted following the morning's tragedy, when nine people were shot and one killed.
New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg (D) also blamed "the national problem of gun violence."
My deepest condolences go out to the family & friends of the victims killed by the gunman in front of the Empire State Building.
