Twitter launches event page for the Democratic convention

Twitter unveiled a new event page dedicated to the Democratic National Convention on Tuesday, the first day of the convention in Charlotte, N.C.

"The page will highlight insider views from Obama campaign staffers, featured DNC speakers, Charlotte organizers, delegates and members of the press," Twitter's Adam Sharp wrote on the Twitter blog. "Leading up to the opening gavel and tonight’s speeches, it will bring those of you who can’t be here in Charlotte closer to the planning that goes into this quadrennial rite."

The page curating updates about the convention follows a similar dedicated page for the Republican National Convention last week. Last week, Twitter was the best way to watch off-script moments and commentary during speeches unfold during the convention in real time.

Follow the page at Twitter.com/hashtag/dnc2012. The page tracks tweets about the convention using the official hashtag #DNC2012.
