Olympians tweet about trip to White House

President Obama, Vice President Biden and the first lady welcomed members of Team USA to the White House earlier in the day, along with the U.S. Paralympic team. Obama, who described himself as the “fan in chief,” said the athletes inspired him and “could not have been better ambassadors.”

Olympians were encouraged in their Twitter use this year by the partnership between Twitter and NBC Universal, which owns media rights to the Olympic Games. President and Michelle Obama exchanged tweets with several of the gold-medal winners during the London Games this summer.
