Members of Congress acknowledged both occasions through tweets and Facebook posts.
Rep. Allen West (R-Fla.) wished “Jewish friends” a “happy, healthy and sweet New Year,” posting a photo of the traditional snack of apples and honey on his Facebook page.
And Democrats turned Constitution Day into a push for voter protection, with several representatives urging followers to make sure they are registered to vote.
Happy Constitution Day! We must fight voter suppression and protect the right of every citizen to vote and every vote to be counted.
