Monday is both the anniversary of the signing of the Constitution and the first day of the Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashanah.

Members of Congress acknowledged both occasions through tweets and Facebook posts.

Rep. Allen West (R-Fla.) wished “Jewish friends” a “happy, healthy and sweet New Year,” posting a photo of the traditional snack of apples and honey on his Facebook page.

And Democrats turned Constitution Day into a push for voter protection, with several representatives urging followers to make sure they are registered to vote.
