Rep. Blake Farenthold (R-Texas) tweeted that he will never forget because he displays the POW/MIA flag year-round along with the American flag and the Lone Star flag of his state.
And several of his colleagues re-tweeted a post from Rep. Sam Johnson (R-Texas), a former Air Force fighter pilot who was shot down over North Vietnam in 1966.
As a former POW in Vietnam for 7 years, I consider myself lucky. I returned home. To those who haven't returned, you are not forgotten.— Sam Johnson (@SamsPressShop) September 21, 2012
Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), who was also a prisoner of the North Vietnamese in the 60s, tweeted:
Please keep our current and former POWs, and tens of thousands of our MIAs in your thoughts and prayers today and every day #DoDPOWMIA— John McCain (@SenJohnMcCain) September 21, 2012
