Seven years ago, in his Major League debut with the Chicago Cubs, Greenberg was struck by a 92-mile-an-hour fastball right below his right ear in his first at-bat experience. He exited the field and his contract with the Cubs was soon terminated.
Greenberg suffered from ongoing concussion problems over the years, but still played in some minor league games for the Israeli National team.
Now, the 31-year-old is getting another at-bat opportunity. Greenberg signed a one-day contract with the Miami Marlins to bat in the first inning of the New York Mets game Tuesday night, according to The Associated Press.
Greenberg sent out a tweet celebrating his second chance.
